As with all types of car rentals, it's best to book your rental well in advance of when you're actually going to need it. This is perhaps more important when booking a luxury car, for two reasons. The first is that, if you're booking a car during a major event or convention, the rental company is more likely to run out of the type of car that you want to rent, because most companies will not keep as many upper-level cars on hand as they do budget-priced ones. The second reason is that, if you have to have a luxury car, you don't have a lot of other options. If the rental place runs out of Honda Civics, it's not a big deal, because you can easily move to a different type of car, and the company will generally give you the upgrade for free. If the company runs out of their selection of luxury cars, however, there's really nowhere else to go. So book early and save on headaches later on!
